Started with People—Not Products
Years ago, while offering dog sitting, I had the privilege of meeting pet owners from many different walks of life. Over time, I started noticing small things—sometimes a dog would arrive without food, or during winter, without a coat or boots to protect them from snow and salt.
Instead of asking questions or making assumptions, I simply shared my dog Junior's food and gave away coats and supplies he had outgrown. Those moments made me realize that while every owner wants the very best for their pet, life doesn't always make that possible.
That’s when the idea for Second Paw was born: to create a way for quality pet supplies to continue helping pets long after one family no longer needed them. Every item reused helps another family save money while keeping perfectly good products out of landfills. Affordability and sustainability don't compete with one another—they strengthen one another.

What items can I donate?
We accept a wide range of clean, safe, and gently used pet supplies!
This includes apparel (coats, boots, sweaters), crates, carriers, beds, bowls, toys, leashes, harnesses, grooming tools, and other functional pet essentials. All donated items must be clean and in good working condition.
What items can't be donated?
For the safety of pets, we can't accept recalled products, damaged or broken items, expired food or medication, opened treats, or anything that isn't clean and safe to use.
Do donated items need to be clean?
Yes. All donated items should be clean, gently used and in good condition. We cannot accept items that are heavily soiled, damaged, broken or unsafe for reuse.
